Plan Your Visit.

Where to Park

You will enter the church property as you turn off of Brinkley Road. The driveway winds past the house (Sunday School) which you will see on your left, and then you will pass the garage, also on your left. Once you pass the garage, you will see signs that direct you to park between the garage and the Worship Center. Someone will be there to help you park your car and direct you to the next activity.

Please drive slowly as you make your way down the driveway and to a parking spot. We have quite a few kids and they may be on the grounds, especially between services! After you have parked, please come to the house. We will then direct you to the proper Sunday School class for every member of your family.

What to Wear

When it comes to what to wear to church, just know that we are fairly casual. You may see some men in a sports coat (with or without a tie) but most will be more casual. Ladies dress in skirts, dresses, slacks, etc. Kids dress the most casual.

What is There for Kids?

We are a family church and serve families with kids (lots of kids!) We use The Gospel Project for our Sunday School classes on Sunday mornings. This program emphasizes the importance of God’s Word and helps our children learn and love the Bible and Jesus and the Church. We provide snacks in some of our Sunday School classes. Please let us know if anyone in your family has any allergies. We also use a check-in system to help us protect your children. We’ll be happy to give you more complete details when you arrive on campus.

What to Expect in Sunday School

Sunday school starts at 9:00 am. We provide classes for all ages, from infants to senior citizens. On your first visit, it might be good to arrive about 10 minutes early. As you leave the parking area, someone will help you find the right Sunday School classes for you and your family. More than likely, you will be directed to enter the main house. We have nursery and children’s classes for the kids, and relevant Sunday School lessons for teens and adults. We use The Gospel Project curriculum in Sunday School for all age groups.

What to Expect After Sunday School

Sunday School is dismissed at 10:10. After retrieving our kids from their classrooms, we all head to the Worship Center (the largest building behind the house). On your way, grab a cup of coffee and chat with friendly Blackman Baptist Church folk. In the Worship Center, find a seat and make yourself at home. You may be asked to fill out a Guest Form that will help us to contact you during the next week, if you’re ok with that.

What to Expect in Worship

Sunday Worship begins at 10:30a. You will hear some announcements about upcoming church events. Then the service begins with a Call to Worship. There will be singing, a time for silent Confession of Sin, a time for Confession of Faith and a time of fellowship. We take up an offering during our service, but since you are our guest, we would not want you to feel any pressure whatsoever to give. The offering plates are passed for the convenience of our members who give regularly.

Following the fellowship and offering time, one of our pastors/elders or another approved individual will preach from a specific passage of Scripture. We always give attendees an opportunity to respond after the message; we call this the invitation. One of the pastors/elders will pray a benediction over the congregation and then we will sing the Doxology to close the service. We’re almost always out before the noon hour.
